disABLED Student Resource Center (dSRC)
The disABLED Student Resource Center (dSRC) is located at the Metro Campus. The purpose of the Center is to extend, reinforce, and supplement the learning experience of the student with documented disabilities in classes and college-related activities. The Center serves all campuses of the College. Each campus has a dSRC liaison for students to coordinate services where they are attending class(es). The Center's staff works with other areas of the College to provide an opportunity for students to attempt to meet the challenges of a college career. The student registration process is initiated in the dSRC and serves as an aid in providing accurate academic support services. Specialized equipment including computer-assisted instruction, videotapes, tape recorders, a variety of specially modified computers and other assisting technolgoy is available for use by students in the Center and the classroom. Students may register with the dSRC on their own, or be referred by their parents, TCC administrators, counselors, instructors, nurses and community agencies. Students may utilize this Center for studying, tutoring, and for additional academic support services.
The Resource Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
The Resource Center is located on the Northeast Campus. The purpose of the Resource Center is to extend, reinforce, and supplement the learning experiences of the deaf or hard of hearing student for classes and college-related activities on all four campuses. The Center's staff works with instructors and students to facilitate classroom accommodations such as notetakers, listening devices, captionists and interpreters. Students may be referred by instructors or counselors, or they may refer themselves. The Center is open for studying, tutoring and/or social interaction with other deaf or hard of hearing students. Courses are offered to assist students in achieving the skills necessary to proceed through the Developmental Studies Program and/or through a planned college program. Students should contact the Resource Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to apply for accommodations provided under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
