William R. "Bill" McKamey
William R. "Bill" McKamey is the vice chairman of the Tulsa Community College Board of Regents. He has served on the board since January 2007.
Professionally, McKamey is vice president–external affairs for AEP’s Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO). He is responsible for economic development, community affairs, governmental affairs, and environmental affairs.
He started his career with Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO), a sister company of PSO and held numerous positions from 1969-1990. He became director of Marketing and Economic Development for Central South West (CSW) in 1990. In 1992 he was named vice president of marketing and business development for PSO and moved to Tulsa. Since that time McKamey has held several executive positions at PSO.
A registered professional engineer, he holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas. He also completed the Darden School of Business Executives course at the University of Virginia.
Besides serving on the TCC Board of Regents, McKamey serves on the following boards: Oklahoma Center for Non Profits – Chair Elect, Chair Long Range Planning Committee; Metro Tulsa Chamber of Commerce –Legislative Committee; University Center Trust Authority –Trustee; and Oklahoma State University Tulsa – President’s Council
He has previously served as chairman of the following: Oklahoma Academy for State Goals; Tulsa Community College Foundation; Arkansas Academy of Industrial Engineers; and Comp Source of Oklahoma.
He has one son and one grandson who reside in Greensboro, N.C.
