Tulsa Children’s Summer Theatre at TCC Announces First Production

The Tulsa Children’s Summer Theatre at Tulsa Community College announces the 2014 summer production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid, Jr.” The Tulsa Children’s Summer Theatre offers free opportunities for children in the Tulsa area, between the ages of 5 to 14, to experience the arts and use their imagination and creativity. Students Get Near Space Without Leaving Ground

Study Shows TCC StartUp Cup Generates Jobs & Economic Growth

A report released by the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation and Tulsa Community College StartUp Cup shows the StartUp Cup competition for entrepreneurs has had a significant economic impact creating 300 full-time jobs and 2,000 part-time or contract positions and adding more than $85.1 million to the Tulsa economy. TCC Names Dr. Leigh Goodson President

The Tulsa Community College Board of Regents voted today to name Leigh B. Goodson, Ph.D., as the fourth president to serve the college since it was founded in 1970. April 25, 2014 - Dr. Barry Epperley has been a leader in the performing arts in northeast Oklahoma for nearly three decades leading a professional orchestra and impacting thousands of lives through his love of music.  He is currently the Conductor and Artistic Director of the Signature Symphony at TCC and will retire in July.  “Give Our Regards to Barry,” a spectacular evening of tribute will honor the contributions of Epperley and feature a performance from Tony award winning Broadway star Bernadette Peters. TCC's Theatre Dept. Performs Greek Tragedy with Steampunk Influence

April 7, 2014 - Tulsa Community College’s Theatre Department gets rid of the togas and laurel wreaths in the upcoming telling of the classic Greek Tragedy “Agamemnon” by Aeschylus and translated by Robert Browning.  This story is updated for the modern audience with a Steampunk influence for sound, prop designs, sets, and costumes and set in a post-apocalyptic future. New Regent Named to TCC Board of Regents

April 1, 2014 - Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin has appointed Robin Flint Ballenger to the Tulsa Community College Board of Regents.

Ballenger is currently the chairman of Flint Resources Company, LLC, and president of the Flint Family Foundation. She was officially sworn in at the TCC Board of Regents meeting in March. Read more...

TCC Joins Initiative to Train Baby Boomers for New Jobs

March 12, 2014 - Tulsa Community College has joined a group of community colleges from across the nation in a program to better serve baby boomers interested in in health care, education and social services by helping them complete certificates or degrees. The group consists of 100 community colleges that were chosen to join the Plus 50 Encore Completion Program offered by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). Read more...

TCC Led Oklahoma in the Number of First-Time Students

March 12, 2014 - Tulsa Community College welcomed 4,219 first-time freshman students in fall 2013 making TCC the leader in the state for attracting new freshman among all public colleges and universities in the state.

Signature Symphony at TCC to Record CD in Front of Live Audience

March 3, 2014 - Who knew recording a CD could make history? But for the Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College March 9 will be a monumental event as the orchestra will record its first CD in its 35 year history.

“This has been a dream of mine to have the Signature Symphony at TCC record a CD,” said Dr. Barry Epperley, Signature Symphony artistic director and conductor. “We’ve talked about the CD for years and now we are going to make it happen.” Read more...

TCC Hosts Theatre Audition Day

Feb. 20, 2014 - Tulsa Community College is hosting the first Oklahoma Theatre Audition Day at TCC Southeast Campus on Feb. 28.

The event gives high school seniors from across Northeastern Oklahoma and transfer students the opportunity to audition for nearly 20 colleges in a single day without having to travel to multiple campuses. In addition, students can learn more about scholarships that are available. Read more...

Signature Symphony at TCC Names Finalists in Conductor Search

Feb. 10, 2014 - Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College has narrowed its search for a new artistic director and conductor to three finalists:  Andrés Franco, Michael Rossi and Tim Verville.

Franco, Rossi and Verville were chosen from a pool of more than 50 applicants during a nationwide search that began when Dr. Barry Epperley announced he would step down as Artistic Director and Conductor of the Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College on July 31, 2014. Read more...

Broadway Veteran Returns to Tulsa Stage with New Show

Jan. 14, 2014 - Oklahoma native and Broadway veteran Sam Harris returns to Tulsa with a new show based on, and titled after the book he wrote called “HAM: Slices of a Life”.  The actor, singer, songwriter, Tony nominated performer and now, author, will perform what he describes a “liter-usical” -- a mix of literary and musical.  The performance is 8 p.m., Feb. 1 at the Tulsa Community College Southeast Campus Performing Arts Center for Education (PACE). TCC Nearly Doubles Minority Enrollment in 10 Years

Oct. 29, 2013 - Tulsa Community College has nearly doubled the number of minority students enrolled in the past 10 years with one in three TCC students identifying themselves as a minority.  TCC had 28,545 students enrolled during the 2012-2013 academic year of which 10,049 students were minority or 35.2 percent of the student population. Groundbreaking Held for Nate Waters Physical Therapy Clinic at TCC

Oct. 16, 2013 - Tulsa Community College begins construction on the Nate Waters Physical Therapy Clinic at the TCC Metro Campus in downtown Tulsa.  Once completed, the nearly $2 million project partially funded by private dollars will provide physical therapy to patients in need as well as provide clinical learning opportunities for TCC students. Sept. 27, 2013 - Thi Nguyen started over at the age of 33 by returning to college and a new career after she married and moved to Tulsa from Vietnam.  After two years at TCC, she started classes at the OU-Tulsa College of Pharmacy this fall.  The 2013 Women in Transition scholarship winner will share her story and hopes to help other women at this year’s Women in Transition workshop. Limited Student Services Return to TCC’s Metro Campus

July 23, 2013 - Tulsa Community College will have limited student services beginning this week at the Metro Campus following a fire in June that closed down the building and forced the relocation of nearly 4,000 students, faculty, and staff.  The TCC staff at Metro Campus will assist students with fall enrollment and will include Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, Academic Advising, Testing and Bursar Services.  Fall classes begin on August 19. June 19, 2013 - TCC resumes classes on Thursday, June 20, for those students and faculty impacted by the fire Monday night at the Main Academic Building on TCC's Metro Campus.  Classes on Tuesday and Wednesday had been cancelled at the Metro Campus because of damage from the fire and lack of power.  In addition, TCC is moving student services at the Metro Campus like financial aid and the bursar’s office to other locations. Read more...

TCC Board of Regents approves a modest tuition and fee increase

June 13, 2013 - The Tulsa Community College Board of Regents approved a little more than a 2% increase in tuition and fees during its June 13 meeting.  The change in tuition and fees equals a $2.50 per credit hour increase for in-state tuition and brings the average rate of TCC's tuition increase to students in the past five years 3.45%. Read more...

Students selected for paid summer internships

April 25, 2013 - Several Tulsa Community College students, majoring in either biology or biotechnology, will spend this summer doing paid internships in area research labs. Feb. 7, 2013 - Tulsa Community College hosts the 10thannual Youth Helping Youth Conference in partnership with the NAACP at TCC's Northeast Campus. The one-day event combines a celebration of African-American history and education to help prepare students for college.
