Signature Symphony at TCC opens season with sounds from France & Broadway
The Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College opens its season with “The French Connection,” featuring one of the world changers of classical music—Le Sacre du Printemps, or The Rite of Spring. This work celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, but its rhythms, harmonies and striking storyline remain awe-inspiring today. This Williams Signature Classics series starts at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21 in the VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education.
Also at the PACE, the symphony will present the TTCU Pops series “Easy to Love,” a compilation of the best loved music from Broadway at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 and Saturday, Oct. 5. Enjoy music by Richard Rodgers, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter and Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, Lorenz Hart and Don Black.
This is the final season that the symphony will be conducted by Dr. Barry Epperley, who is retiring next year. To purchase tickets or to watch a video about the symphony, click here or call 918-595-7777.ShareThis
