More than words: Words of Change celebrates MLK Jr. Day of Service

Students, faculty and staff at Tulsa Community College will unite to educate families about the importance of literacy by hosting a free, public event. TCC will participate in its first Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service by presenting Words for Change from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 14 in the Fitness Center at the TCC Northeast Campus.

Words of Change is open to anyone who wants to learn how reading and writing can be fun and engaging. The two-hour event will include poetry performances, games, art projects, poetry writing tips and more. Plus, everyone will leave with a free book.

This event is a result of the U.S. Congress U.S. Congress designating the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Holiday as a national day of service.
