Lt. Christopher Cook has had two careers, both rewarding in their own rights. However, deep down he knew that he wanted to be a cop. Perhaps it was watching CHiP’s as a child.
Chris has worked in the private sector as a sales representative, supervisor, and manager for a locally based textile rental company, in the Tulsa and Wichita markets. He has also worked as a Service/Sales Representative, as well as a Training and Compliance Instructor for one of Fortune Magazine’s “Most Admired Companies.” In his Instructor role, he taught everything from First Aid/CPR, to how to drive a forklift.
Chris followed my Mom’s footsteps into law enforcement after she retired from the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office. His parents both served our community and country. His father with the Marine Corps, and his mother with the Sheriff’s Office. Chris believes that is where he learned the values of service and sacrifice.
Chris career stated in 2008, with the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office. Spending a majority of the time assigned to a Homeland Security Task Force and Detention Division, where he received multiple unit commendations. Chris has lectured to international audiences for the American Correctional Association on media relations and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations. Chris served a short time with the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office as Undersheriff and Jail Administrator.
Chris started TCC part-time in the summer of 2016 at the NEC and full-time in January 2017 at Metro. Chris loves the unique opportunity for true community policing afforded by being a member of the Tulsa Community College Police Department. Chris attended Southern Nazarene University and has plans to pursue an MBA in 2019.
