TCC's program is fully accredited. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Program admits a new class each year. The courses are offered in the daytime only and will take a total of six semesters to complete. Please be advised that OCTA 1203 / Intro. to OT is offered  exclusively in an on-line format therefore computer access is required. Currently 20 students are accepted for each Fall semester with applications due Jan. 15th of that year. The years 2011-2013 the OTA program averaged a 92% graduation rate; this represents an 8% attrition rate for students entering the program.

 

Graduates of the program will be able to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapy assistant administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Most states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination
