A Patient Care Technician (PCT) is trained to assist the licensed nurse in providing patient care in acute care hospital settings by, and under the supervision of, the licensed nurse.
After successful completion of the TCC PCT class, graduates are awarded the TCC Patient Care Technician Certificate of Achievement. PCT graduates aspiring to enter the TCC RN Program can use the PCT course for the CNA prerequisite.
PCT graduates choosing Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) state certification by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing may apply to take the state certification examination. This process is covered in class near the end of the PCT course.
To obtain an application, call the TCC Nursing Certificate Programs Office at 918.595.7324; come by our office at TCC Metro Campus, Room MC501, or go to the downloadable forms link below.
