Courses Taught

ITCV 2293 Cloud Computing

This capstone course for the Cloud Computing track will help students learn about cloud computing and its special features. They will also learn about the five layer cloud stack, and how to access, utilize, manage and secure cloud services, and how to provision them in both private and public clouds. This course may also help prepare students for industry certification exams. 
Lecture 2 hours. Lab 2 hours.
Course Prerequisites: CSYS 2063 Windows Server Admin and CSYS 2993 ITIL Found or instructor permission.

CSYS2563 Enterprise Security

This 3 credit-hour class covers the broader realm of Information Security from a management perspective. Topics include physical security, policies, procedures, risk analysis, business continuity, administration, incident handling, disaster recovery, intro to cryptology and security technologies, system development and operations security.
Lecture 3 hours.

 

ITCV 2033 Broadband Networking / CCENT / CCNA ICND1

This course is an in-depth study of broadband networking hardware, standards, protocols, and technologies, which helps prepare students for the Cisco CCENT certification exam. Topics include the history and development of telecommunications networks into a broadband transport vehicle, the merger of voice and data networks, digital and analog signaling, QoS, routing, WAN interfaces, access circuits, transmission methods, frame relay, ATM, SONET, SDH, VPN’s, FDDI, DSL, ISDN, B-ISDN, wireless WAN technologies, RPR, Fibre Channel, InfiniBand, SAN’s, BPL, MPLS, IP addressing, subnet masks, internets, intranets, extranets, network management and monitoring, SNMP, Telnet, SSH, problem solving and troubleshooting.
Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory: 2 hours. 

Prerequisite: CSCI 1263 Networking Fundamentals.

 

ITCV 2023 Wireless Networking

An in-depth study of current and emerging wireless communications technologies. Topics include wireless LANs, GPS, cellular technologies, FSO, RFID, WAP, WML, Blue Tooth, IR, satellite, Wi-max, Zigbee, and wireless security.
Lecture 2 hours. Lab 2 hours.
Prerequisite: CSCI 1263 Network Fundamentals.
