The average annual tuition and fees for an Oklahoma resident taking classes as a full-time student is $2,563.50 (non-resident $6,876.00). An academic year is generally considered the fall and spring semesters with 15 hours per semester. Tuition is subject to change at the beginning at each academic year. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires a minimum of 40 flight hours to obtain a private pilot's license. However, the national average, as defined by Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), for earning a private certificate is 60-75 hours.
