The Music of Stephen Sondheim    September 14 & 15, 2012   8:00pm 

From his first big break in 1957 as lyriscist for "West Side Story", Sondheim's work as a composer-lyricist has set the standard for modern American Musical Theatre.  He has won a record eight Tony Awards (including a special Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre award) and received a Pulitzer Prize for "Sunday in the Park with George".  This program features the best of Sondheim's work on the Great White Way for over 40 years.  Joining the orchestra will be the Signature Chorale.  The evening will feature selections from "Gypsy", "Follies", and "Sweeney Todd" - great music- wonderful memories.  So save your air and cab fare -  join us as Signature Sympohny brings to you the unique genius that is Braodway's Sondheim.
 

Asleep at the Wheel   October 19 & 20, 2012  8:00pm

Built around Bob Wills and his Western Swing, Aleep at the Wheel, the famed western-swing, boogie and roots-music outfit, is still on the upswing.  That's saying something too, considering the group's been around for over 40 years turning out an incredible 25+ albums while playing an unrelenting schedule of one-nighters that would mke a vaudevillian dizzy.  Along that sometimes dusty road in the middle of nowhere, they have managed to win nine Grammy Awards.  The Classic Country pairs up with the Signature Symphony for an evening of country music built around Bob Wills and his Western Swing.
 

Christmas Goes to the Movies     December 14 & 15, 2012  8:00pm

Everyone has their own family-favorite movies they like to revisit during the holidays.  This Christmas, we can help by playing some of the favorite music from those same movies that you hold dear- from classics like the Laurel & Hardy "Babes in Toyland" (1934) and everyone's favorite "Hoiday Inn" (1942) with Bing Crosby and Fred Astair, to "It's a Wonderful Life", "Miracle on 34th Street", "A Charlie Brown Christmas", "Home Alone" and "Polar Express".  Joining us will be vocalist Mark Frie (Director of the Broken Arrow PAC) and Kim Frie (acclaimed soprano and graduate of Oklahoma City University and Boston's New England Conservatory), along with other suprise guests.  We will have everything but the popcorn as Signature Symphony brings you on stage for a night of Christmas movies, music and memories guaranateed to put you in the holiday spirit.
 

Oklahoma's Music with the Signature Stars    February 8 & 9, 2013  8:00pm

This night of Signature Pops features the return of Signature Stars, including Booker Gillespie, Lisa Stefanic, Marla Patterson and Mitch Adams.  By popular demand, this program will be an updated recap of our popular Oklahojma Centennial celebration in 2006, adn will highlight 100+ years of Oklahoma's Musical Heritage - shocasing the music of the American Indians in early7 Indian Territory, and progress through the evening to include the influence of the music of Reba and Garth.  We'll also stop along the musical Route 66 ahd hear such greats as Patti Page, Roger Miller and Ralph Blaine.  The music will come sweeping down the plains in this salute to Oklahoma's rich musical heritage.
 

An Innocent Man - The Music of Billy Joel   March 15 & 16, 2013  8:00pm

A celebration of clasic moments of the sixth best-selling recording artist and the third best-selling solo artist in the United States, presented by Peter Brennan's Jeans 'n Classics.  Since it's inception, Jeans 'n Classics has been a star performer in the arts and entertainment scene.  Its concept of combing rock musicians and headlining stars with a world-class symphony orchestras has drwn record setting capacity crowds.  From "Piano Man" and "Uptown Girl" to "A New York State of Mind", the Jeans 'n Classics performance of the music of Billy Joel offers a musical energy and enthusiasm that must be experienced to be believed.
