Age Appropriateness

Students must be the designated age by the first day of their class.  The courses are designed to be age appropriate and coincide with the socialization aspects of the program.  It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure the student is placed in an age appropriate class.  If problems arise regarding age appropriateness, continuing Education reserves the right to withdraw a student from a course and to place them in another age appropriate course. If no age appropriate courses are available, CE  reserves the right to withdraw a student from a course without placement into another course.

Parents, your child must have completed kindergarten to enroll in the 5 yr. old age group!

CFK Kids Power Hour

In an effort to serve our busy parents, we will continue offering AM and PM sessions to accommodate many of our summer program participants.  CFK Kid Power Hour sessions have been developed and are listed in the regular lists of courses with a detailed description.  You must enroll in each option you wish to place your child.

No Bullying Policy

It is the position of the TCC Summer Youth Program that bullying will not be tolerated.  Bullying in all forms, whether through harassment, intimidation, threats, etc. may result in a temporary or permanent removal of students from the classroom environment.  Repeated incidents may result in permanent removal from the class.  Parents, please note that in this type of unfortunate situation no refunds will be issued.

Disciplinary Information

Students are expected to abide by the rules and regulations of the college in that no weapons (i.e. knives, guns of any kind, etc.) should be brought onto campus.  Students who do not abide by the rules/regulations will be asked not to return to class. Disruptive students will be taken to the Summer Camp Office and their parents will be notified.  Continued disruption will result in the student being asked not to return.  Refunds will not be provided to students who are removed from class.

Drop-Off And Pick-Up Points

Ten minutes prior to the start of class, staff will be available at the campus drop-off/pick-up area.  Instructors meet students at these areas, take them to class and return with them once class is over.  If you arrive early, wait with your child until a staff member is available.  Staff will wait with children as they are picked up.  If you arrive late for pick-up, you'll find your child in the Summer Camp Office. Safety is important to us; however, we cannot assume responsibility for your child beyond scheduled class and supervised times.

Public Transportation

While we love to have your children here with us, we cannot be responsible for children who utilize public transportation.  We do not have staff available to watch your children prior to the drop-off and pick-up times.  The college has a policy that children under 16 must be with an adult at all times unless they are in a class.  Therefore, we ask that you not rely on the public bus system to get your child to campus as they may arrive earlier or stay later than our supervised times. Thank you! Keeping your children safe is our top priority.

Room Numbers

We do not publish room numbers for safety reasons.  If you need to pick your child up early from class, please call our office at 918-595-8614, and we will make sure that your child is ready for you in the Summer Camp office or other official designated area on campus.

Safety/Security:

Drop-off/Pick-Up Procedures

Your child's safety is of the utmost importance to us.  You will receive a summer youth programs "hang tag" to be displayed on the rear view mirror of your vehicle(s).  The hang tag is designed to help TCC summer staff identify your vehicle as the designated vehicle to pick up your student.  Please help us by making sure you have the hang tag displayed.

 Alternative Pick-Up Arrangements

If someone other than the Parent/Guardian noted on the Student Data Form will be picking up your child, summer staff must be advised during drop off or a phone call must be received by the summer staff office giving us the alternative person's name.  As an additional precaution, we will be asking that the person present a photo ID to our staff before the child will be released in their care.

 During the Day

We never let your child out of our sight.  Students are escorted to and from all classes, during restroom breaks and during the lunch period.  We also ask that you never leave your child unattended while at TCC.  Please do not request that your child go to a different pick-up location other than the one that has been designated by TCC staff.

Special Needs

TCC strives to provide reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities.  If you have special requests, please call 918-595-7545 or send an email to cstine@tulsacc.edu.

Supplies, Supplies, Supplies

Supplies for most of our classes are furnished.  In a few instances you may need to furnish some supplies, such as film for photography classes or old jeans for "Wearable Art".  The class descriptions or our staff will tell you if any additional supplies are needed for a class.

Teacher Information

Typically, our instructors are certified teachers who enjoy working with your children in our TCC summer program.  In some instances, instructors come to us from specialized fields which enhance the learning experience.  All are excited to teach and instruct your child in a positive manner.  We do our best to hire the best!

T-Shirts

T-shirts are available for purchase at the Southeast Campus Store.  If your child is attending classes on another campus, the staff will make arrangements to have their shirt delivered to them.  The shirts are a great souvenir of your child's summer at TCC.  Order forms can be found in the Summer Youth Guide and can also be downloaded from our website at www.tulsacc.edu/ce by clicking on the Summer Youth Programs link.  The shirts will be distributed during your child's first week of class.

NOTE:  Order forms are for College for Kids and Teen Extreme participants only. If a t-shirt is included in the cost of the program, you do not need to fill out an order form.

Visitors In The Classroom

For safety purposes, we do not allow visitors/parents in the classrooms.  Please do not ask to sit in your child's classroom as it is prohibited.  Our staff members will be glad to help you.
