Chase inspires change: Grant funds more class offerings for underrepresented populations

Chase recently donated $12,400 to Tulsa Community College's Education Outreach Center in east Tulsa to help the Center keep up with the community's demands. The Center had more than 500 students attend classes in 2010, and this grant will help meet the need for more class offerings for underrepresented populations.

Chase's contribution will help fund scholarships and informational workshops like TCC's "Steps to Success" event held each semester. "Steps to Success" is a partnership with Oklahoma State University-Tulsa which provides prospective students and parents strategies and resources to successfully complete an associate degree at TCC and a bachelor's degree at OSU-Tulsa.

TCC's Education Outreach Center opened in November of 2007. It serves as a full service extension of TCC's campuses where those interested can enroll in credit classes, take placement tests, and receive academic and financial aid counseling. More than 20 classes were offered during the fall 2010 semester.
