Education

  • Bachelors in Letters from the University of Oklahoma. Letters is a tri-major of philosophy, history and literature with ancient and modern languages.
  • Masters degree in Humanities with an emphasis in art history from the University of Tulsa
  • Doctorate in Higher Education from Oklahoma State University.             

Research Interests

  • I have received a grant to study infusing Asia into the undergraduate curriculum from the Asian Studies Development Program.
  • A grant to study Transcendentalism and writers like Emerson, Thoreau, and Alcott in Concord, Mass.
  • A grant to study the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas.
  • I started the Peace Initiative at TCC which has included workshops, speakers, and a publication of peacebuilding ideas within the college.              

Professional Affiliations & Memberships

  • I have served on the national board of the Community College Humanities Association as the President of the Southwest Division.
  • I have served on the national ARCAS board for the Asian Studies Development Program.
  • I served on the state board for the Oklahoma Global Education Consortium.
