Employment Outlook

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Outlook Handbook, employment is projected to grow much faster than average, ranking medical assistants among the fastest growing occupations over the 2008-18 decade. Job prospects should be excellent. About 62 percent of medical assistants work in offices of physicians. The employment outlook is good in both urban and rural communities. The starting salary range of a new graduate from TCC in the Tulsa area is approximately $21,840 to $24,960. Salaries vary with geographic location and the clinical practice setting.
