Program Description:
This certificate of achievement option is a competency based training program designed to build skills and knowledge needed to work 
with Head Start families. Course curriculum is based on the Head Start Program Performance Standards, Competency Goals and Indicators. 
A grade of “C” or better is required in each course and a student must successfully complete a portfolio assessment documenting skills
 and proveniences for each Competency Goal and Indicator to receive the Head Start Credential, Certificate of Achievement. Students who
achieve a grade of “C” or better in these courses may apply the credits toward any TCC Child Development Associate in Applied Science
degree as controlled electives. See the TCC Child Development Associate in Science degrees for credits that may be applied toward
university transfer degrees.
