Tulsa Achieves Volunteer Requirements
For each academic year a student begins as Tulsa Achieves participant, he/she is required to perform 40 hours of volunteer service. This service must be performed in Tulsa County and must benefit the community in a positive way.
Reporting Volunteer Service
Tulsa Achieves does not accept paper documents for volunteer service verification.
Tulsa Achieves students should create a volunteer profile using Volunteer Tulsa’s website.
Only hours reported by the volunteer agency will be considered. Students, or students’ family members, may not report their own service hours.
If an agency is unable to participate with Volunteer Tulsa, a representative from the agency must complete the Volunteer Agency Eligibility Form. Once this form is submitted and the agency is approved as an eligibile volunteer site, Tulsa Achieves will provide the agency representative with information about TA volunteer requirements and instructions for reporting students' service.*
*Students should keep in mind that hours submitted via this method will not appear on their VolunteerTulsa profile, but are accounted for in the Tulsa Achieves office. Students wishing to inquire about their current number of hours can email us at tulsaachieves@tulsacc.edu
Eligible Volunteer Service

Any unpaid, non-compensated activity at an eligible Tulsa County not-for-profit agency.

Hours earned in Service Learning classes, Honors classes, and other classes at TCC.

Service that benefits the community at large, not simply the agency at which service is performed.
Ineligible Volunteer Service

Internships, Clinicals, fieldwork, etc.

Service performed outside of Tulsa County
-
Service performed at any for-profit business
-
Service that only benefits the agency where it is performed and does not benefit the greater Tulsa community.

Service for which compensation of any form is received

Court-ordered community service
Volunteer Service Deadlines
Volunteer service for each academic year must be completed within one week of Spring Finals. Transcript holds will be placed on all accounts for students reporting hours under the annual minimum requirement.
Volunteer Tulsa
Volunteer Tulsa serves the Tulsa area by connecting individuals of all ages and backgrounds to meaningful volunteer opportunities. Volunteer Tulsa educates/equips volunteer administrators in effectively managing volunteer resources to fulfill their organizations' missions.
Volunteer Tulsa is proud to partner with Tulsa Community College and other educational institutions to help students become active citizens and to help develop the community's workforce and future leaders!
