Probation, Suspension, Appeals
Default standing for students with GPA 2.0 or higher (will be eligible for re-enrollment).
Freshman students, 30 or fewer credit hours, with a cumulative GPA of 1.7 to 2.0 will be placed on academic notice.
Any student whose GPA falls below the thresholds designated in the chart below at the end of a given semester is on academic probation.
|Credit Hours||Overall GPA Requirement|
|0 through 30 semester credit hours||1.7|
|Greater than 30 semester credit hours||2.0|
Any student who is on academic probation and fails to complete the semester with a 2.0 (not to include activity or performance courses) will be suspended from the institution.
Academic dismissal is a second academic suspension. So if a student had been suspended once, and then was re-admitted, and then failed to get a semester GPA of at least a 2.0, that student would be academically suspended a second time. When a student is on academic dismissal, he/she must attend another college and raise his/her overall GPA above a 2.0 before re-applying to TCC again.
