TCC’s spring commencement will take place May 12, 2019, at the Pavilion at Expo Square.
In addition to the new date, there will be two ceremonies, one at 5 p.m. and one at 7:30 p.m. Further, the College will hold its first ever fall commencement exercise December 2019.
“While the Sunday date is not ideal, this was the only date available at the new venue for our ceremony. We hope to resume Friday ceremonies in 2020,” says Jan Clayton, TCC senior student affairs officer. “We believe this venue change will shorten the graduation ceremony while providing ample parking and space for growth.”
Employee participation will still be required of full-time faculty and professional staff, but employees are not required to participate in both ceremonies. Employees who are unable to attend commencement will need to communicate in advance with their supervisor.
The Schools of Business & Information Technology, Nursing, Visual & Performing Arts and Science and Mathematics will participate in the 5 p.m. ceremony. The Schools of Liberal Arts and Communications, Engineering, Aviation, and Public Service and Allied Health will participate in the 7:30 p.m. ceremony.
