Goody Award was a Good Time for Paula Settoon

November 3, 2017

During a presentation about upcoming updates to MyTCC, Paula Settoon, dean of libraries and knowledge management, was surprised with the Good Job “Goody” award by Tulsa Community College President Leigh B. Goodson, Ph.D.

“This unexpected recognition of my work is such an honor,” Settoon said. “I’m so very grateful for the college’s leadership and support. TCC is a wonderful place to work and I am so happy to be part of this team.”

Settoon was recognized for her leadership with TCC’s Tulsa Area United Way campaign, her planning efforts for Convocation/Professional Development Day, her committee chair position with the HLC Assurance Committee and the efforts to update MyTCC.

“Paula has really gone above and beyond this past year to help the College,” Goodson said. “Her leadership with Professional Development Day made it such a great event and her work with the United Way campaign helps the community for the greater good.”

This is the fourth Goody Award to be given since it was established by Goodson. The Goody award is for individuals who go over and above to do their jobs in the best possible way. Previous Goody Award winners include: Karen Jeffers, director of financial aid, Mark Frank, assistant professor of theatre and Vonetta Schiffman, administrative assistant in marketing and communications.

If you know of a TCC employee deserving of consideration for a Goody, you can send a nomination to President's Assistant Carrie Bateson. Include the names of your nominees and a description of how they’ve gone above and beyond to reach students and support the College’s mission. Then you'll have to keep an eye out for Goodson; future Goodys will be given away several times per year, but they won't be awarded on any set schedule, so there's no way to know when one might come your direction.
