Updated Syllabus Template and Attachment for Fall 2020 Courses

July 17, 2020

Academic Affairs has approved some minor changes to the standard syllabus template and the syllabus attachment posted to the MyTCC Faculty page (Important Documents box). Changes are minor in order to minimize disruption for faculty as they prepare for fall courses.

You will notice that under the Contacting your Professor section of the syllabus template, the term Student Hours will be used instead of Office Hours going forward. This change was made to ensure that faculty has the ability to decide how to better support their students outside the instructional setting. It also makes it clear for students that, during this time, instructors are available to meet with them through different avenues and not just in an office space.

For adjuncts only: adjuncts are encouraged to check with their respective School offices to determine which phone number they should list as an additional point of contact.

Contacting your Professor:
Instructor:
Campus/Office Number: (Not necessary for Adjuncts)
Student Hours: (Not necessary for Adjuncts)
Phone: (Adjuncts can list a Google Voice number, if they have one. They can also check with their respective School office for additional suggestions as personal phone numbers are not suggested)
Email: (TCC email address)
(Include information about your email/phone response time. Example: I will return your email within ___hours. The best way to contact me is by______).

To address student access to campuses during the fall semester, please make sure the statement below on Campus Access is included in all fall syllabi.

Campus Access

To align with CDC guidelines for social distancing and in-person gathering limits, students will have limited access to learning spaces on campus for study, technology use, and testing. Please monitor the TCC website @ www.tulsacc.edu for the most up-to-date information about campus access. A complete list of how to access services, supports, and resources is available at COVID-19 Student Updates and Resources. If you do not see a resource that you need to be successful in completion of this course, contact me or the Student Support Center.

The syllabus attachment has also been revised to include a statement explaining the need to comply with face coverings, and a statement how TCC is committed to supporting students with health education, short-term counseling and connection to resources for everyday needs. The syllabus attachment is automatically added as a tab in your Blackboard course site.

COVID-19 Considerations

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, TCC is actively monitoring best practices and updating guidance based on the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), state, and local health authorities. View the current TCC COVID-19 Response plan. Students are responsible for knowing and complying with requirements outlined in the plan including social distancing and mask usage. As outlined in the plan and until further notice, all individuals on campus (employee, student, and visitor) shall use face coverings, which must cover, at a minimum, nose and mouth. Students shall wear face coverings at all times during classes held on campus.

Wellness Services
