Inspire Hope: Emergency Fund
The Impact of COVID-19 on TCC
As our community navigates the effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the TCC Foundation is focused on how to help TCC students challenged by the sudden changes in the economy. Most of our students rely on hourly jobs in the retail, leisure and hospitality industries to support their daily needs. Due to widespread job loss, our students are facing of the inability to provide basic needs for themselves and in many cases, their families. Due to the impact of this pandemic, TCC students are now confronting unemployment, food insecurity and housing challenges.
How You Can Help
The TCC Foundation’s priority is to take care of our students and help them remain in school, completing their degree. TCC has an emergency fund that provides emergency financial support to currently enrolled students who are unable to meet essential expenses due to a temporary or unexpected hardship, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The TCC Foundation also grants funds to execute student-focused programs that are vital to the success of TCC’s degree and certificate programs. If you would like to help during this time of uncertainty, your contribution to the TCC Foundation will provide valuable aid to TCC students, staff and faculty.
Your gift will assist students with critical needs, such as:
- Providing food and toiletries. Beginning April 1, our TCC Food Bank, “The Fuel Pantry” will be providing a drive-thru service for our students in need.
- Aiding in educational expenses, i.e. online class needs, textbooks and supplies.
- Unmet expenses due to the loss of employment, such as utilities and transportation costs.
- Educational programming and equipment for faculty and students.
How To Request Funds
Unexpected things can happen in life. If you have an emergency expense you can’t afford, and it’s keeping you from continuing your education, or causing problems at home, you may be eligible for an emergency grant.
