Lynda.com for Essential Computer Training

Lynda.com is a leading online learning platform that helps anyone learn business skills, software, technology and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals.

With a permanent Tulsa City-County Library card, you can gain FREE access to the LYNDA.Com online training video library and Exercise Files.

Regardless of Tulsa County residence all current TCC students qualify for a Tulsa City-County Library card. You may apply in person at a TCCL branch.

The quickest way to get a permanent card is to visit a local branch library in person with your TCC Campus Wide ID.

You may also apply online for a temporary Tulsa City-County Library card, but you must wait until you receive your permanent card before you can access the Lynda.com training site.

Once you have your permanent Tulsa City-County library card go to the Tulsa City-County library Website to Login/Register your card.

Once you are logged in to your Library Account:

  • Navigate to the Library Home Page
  • Scroll to the “Learn Something New” area
  • Select “Free, Online Courses with Lynda.com” You must use the TCCL portal link.
  • Create your Lynda.com account using your library card number.
  • Once you are logged in to your Lynda.com account you will have full access to the sites Video Library and Exercise Files. You may now search for the software or skills you want to learn.

Basic skills are essential to becoming a successful programmer. This collection of courses will teach you vocabulary and concepts critical to understanding the task of coding.

  • Programming Foundations -Provides the core knowledge to begin programming in any language, using JavaScript to explore the syntax of a programming language, and shows how to write and execute your first application and understand what's going on under the hood.
  • Programming Foundations: Object-Oriented Design - Introduces object-oriented terms like abstraction and inheritance and shows how to define requirements and use cases and create a conceptual model of your application.
