Start your cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI) or data science career by gaining skills within just 24 weeks with our boot camp programs from the TCC Cyber Skills Center in partnership with edX.

Growing Demand: Step into the future with a career in fields that are on the rise. Demand for cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data science professionals isn’t slowing down anytime soon. For instance, computer and information research science jobs are projected to grow by 23% between 2022 and 20321. Information security jobs2 and data analytics jobs3 are expected to increase by 32% and 35%, respectively, during the same period.

Fully-Funded Awards Available

TCC is covering tuition costs for 75 learners, 25 for the Cybersecurity program, 25 for the AI program and 25 for the Data Analytics program.

The Cyber Skills Center programs are free to 75 selected learners twice per year.

Eligibility for Fully-Funded Awards

Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years or older at the program start date. 

Residency Requirement: Must be a resident within the Tulsa Metro Area, including Tulsa, Osage, Wagoner, Creek, Rogers, Pawnee, or Okmulgee counties.

Not Eligible for Funding?

For those that are not eligible for funding, or are not selected for one of our available awards, you are welcome to enroll using alternative funding sources.

Program tuition through TCC partner edX is $12,000. If you would like to discuss alternative funding options we encourage you to request more information to connect with an edX admission advisor to discuss.

Cyber Skills Center Admission FAQs

The TCC Cyber Skills Center is dedicated to making a significant impact by supporting all individuals determined to advance their careers in technology in Tulsa. Individuals from underserved populations are strongly encouraged to apply.  The 25 fully-funded tuition awards in the Cybersecurity, AI, or Data program are a part of that commitment.

Eligibility for Fully-Funded Awards

  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years or older at the program start date. 
  • Residency Requirement: Must be a resident within the Tulsa Metro Area, including
    Tulsa, Osage, Wagoner, Creek, Rogers, Pawnee, or Okmulgee counties. 

The application starts with confirmation that you are eligible for the funding award. Once you have confirmed your eligibility in the funding application on the Good Grants website, you will then be asked to provide detailed demographic information such as your name, address, gender, age, race, ethnicity, household size and income, citizenship, education level, employment status, disability status, veteran status, and criminal record. You will also be asked to share details related to your career path, and why you are applying for the program and funding award.

The Cyber Skills Center, in partnership with Retrain Tulsa, will help provide you access to childcare, transportation, career-readiness supper, and any required equipment for the program.

All classes are held virtually/online, however, if you are selected for funding, you will be expected to attend occasional mandatory in-person events at the Tulsa Community College campus.

Yes. The program is designed for working individuals who are actively pursuing a career change or advancement. The part-time schedule allows you to continue working while advancing your skills. In addition to the classroom hours (9 hours per week), you can expect to devote 20 or more hours per week to your homework assignments.

If you will be working full-time while in the program, we recommend that you confirm your work schedule will allow for you to attend classes regularly and take advantage of the academic resources available for you to be successful in the program. You may only miss up to 4 class sessions in order to receive a certificate of completion for the course.

Cyber Skills Center Accepted Student FAQs

Once you’re enrolled, students can visit the Student Life Office to obtain their TCC campus ID. Your enrollment agreement will be required as proof of enrollment to get your ID.

We hold a number of development and celebratory events throughout the course of the program. Some of these will be optional. Those considered required include the Kick Off to celebrate the start of class and Graduation + Demo Day event at the conclusion.
