OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS: Please Touch the Art
DEADLINE: Monday, July 15, 10 am CT. Submit up to three artworks for possible inclusion in the popular exhibition “Please Touch the Art” at the McKeon Center for Creativity in downtown Tulsa. The exhibition will engage all five senses, with a focus on visitors who are blind or visually impaired, TPS students, and anyone who wants to experience art in new and exciting ways. Artworks in all media will be considered, with strong preference given to works that engage touch, sound, smell, taste, and/or include participatory elements. Do not submit work that cannot be touched. Proposals for new work or works-in-progress will also be considered. Artists selected for the exhibition will be paid a $150 honorarium after the artwork is delivered, and artwork may be offered for sale with no commission assessed. Exhibition is at the artist’s own risk. The deadline is Monday, July 15 at 10 am Central Time, and the exhibition will be on display from September 3 – October 31.

I Can't Identify Plants with Tulsa Garden Center
Become a backyard botanist for better home plant care. Learn new ways of looking at leaves, stems, and flowers to better identify plants in their landscapes. Participants will come away with a fresh perspective and new lens in looking at the natural world. Free and open to the public. Engineering Student Presents Research at State Capitol
While many students enjoyed the much-needed rest that Spring Break provides, Leahla Chism showcased her work study research to a panel of judges and legislators at the State Capitol. The Tulsa Community College engineering student was one of 25 students across Oklahoma to participate in Research Day at the Capitol, an annual event held at the Oklahoma City Capitol rotunda that spotlights undergraduate research conducted at the state’s colleges and universities.
