Veterans Educational Benefits

TCC is dedicated to supporting our veterans and their dependents attending school.

Your service and sacrifices are deeply appreciated, and we've designated special study areas on each campus just for veterans. These resource centers offer a quiet study space with computers and a wealth of brochures containing information on local veteran services.

Our dedicated full-time Veteran Services office at Metro Campus is here to assist you in any way possible.

We assist prospective and current military students in understanding federal education benefits, and who to contact regarding their tuition assistance.

Military Tuition Assistance Application Process

Each military branch has its own Tuition Assistance(TA) application form and procedures. To find out how to get started, visit your local installation Education Services Officer, go online to a virtual Education Services Officer or select your branch from the following list:

Prior to your course enrollment, you may be required to develop an education plan or complete a TA orientation. Be sure to keep the following important information in mind when you apply:

  • Military tuition assistance may only be used to pursue degree programs at colleges and universities in the United States that are regionally or nationally accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. A quick way to check a school's accreditation is by visiting the Department of Education.
  • Your service’s Education Services Officer must approve your military tuition assistance before you enroll in a course

Recruitment and Compensation

Tulsa Community College does not, and has never, conducted fraudulent or aggressive recruiting on or off military installations or in any other venue, nor do we misrepresent ourselves, our programs, or our mission. We do not pay incentive compensation to anyone for recruiting actions. We meet all state authorization requirements and perform yearly program auditing conducted by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education as outlined in the OSRHE Policy and Procedures Manual - Chapter 3 Academic Affairs.

Return of Unearned Tuition Assistance Funds

Military Tuition Assistance (TA) is awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will attend school for the entire period for which the assistance is awarded. When a student withdraws, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of TA funds originally awarded.

To comply with the Department of Defense policy, Tulsa Community College will return any unearned TA funds on a prorated basis through at least the 60% portion of the period for which the funds were provided. TA funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period, with unearned funds returned based on when a student stops attending. These funds are returned to the military service branch.

In instances when a service member stops attending due to a military service obligation, Tulsa Community College will work with the affected Service Member to identify solutions that will not result in student debt for the returned portion.

Supporting our veterans for their invaluable service and immeasurable sacrifice.

Veterans are an important part of the student body at TCC. To better serve these people and their dependents, TCC has developed a Veterans Resource Center located at our four main TCC campuses. The resource center provides information for veterans seeking to enhance their future through higher education. Students and/or Veterans should contact a Student Life office regarding location and hours of operation.
