Barry & Buddies is an evening of music and celebration to honor Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College Conductor and Artistic Director Dr. Barry Epperley. The performance is part of Epperley’s final season and this event promises a trip down memory lane.

The historic Cain’s Ballroom will play host for the evening of live music and dancing. Barry & Buddies is 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21 and will feature the Signature Symphony Big Band plus Strings, Signature Chorale and Sheridan Road Ensemble with guest artists Shelby Eicher, Donald Ryan, Booker Gillespie, Jeff Smith, Lisa Stefanic, Kim Koch, Stephen Goforth and Maureen O’Boyle.

The evening promises to be a musical journey through 35 years representing the work of Barry Epperley as he created what would become the Signature Symphony at TCC. Epperley is responsible for contributing and fostering the performing arts and arts education in northeast Oklahoma for three decades.

In addition to paying tribute to his contributions to the arts and education, proceeds will help support his passion of quality arts entertainment and education through The Higher Scale Program, which allows professional Signature Symphony at TCC musicians to teach viola, violin and cello lessons twice a week to third, fourth and fifth grade students at 12 Tulsa Public Schools. Higher Scale and other music education outreach programs directly impact thousands of public school students who receive free music instruction from Signature Symphony musicians.

Presenting sponsors for the evening are WPX Energy, OK2Grow and Mollie Williford. AVB Bank; Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center Foundation; KOTV; KRMG; Dr. Frank and Mary Shaw; Tulsa People and Tulsa Community College are major donors.
