Bringing It Home: Focus of Sustainability Conference

Learning how to incorporate easy to use steps and practices into your life is the focus of the second annual Sustainability Conference at Tulsa Community College. Bringing it Home is this year’s theme and will help us examine the choices we make in everyday situations and how they can advance sustainability.
The Sustainability Conference hosted by Tulsa Community College is 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Thomas K. McKeon Center for Creativity at TCC Metro Campus, 909 S. Boston. The event, co-sponsored by Sustainable Tulsa, is free.
Dr. Berrien Moore, director of the National Weather Center and an internationally recognized Earth scientist and Bill Roth, author, green entrepreneur, and consultant on sustainability will speak at the conference. There will be three panel discussions from the consumer, business and student perspectives. Panelists include Marilyn Ihloff, Libby Billings, Carla Grogg, Thelma Latimer-Davis, Kerry Rowland, and Corey Williams.
“Certainly as a college, TCC is taking steps to reduce energy consumption and recycle resources but this conference is about being part of the sustainability conversation for the Tulsa community,” said Mike Limas, director of academic and campus services at TCC Northeast Campus. “We will discuss issues related to energy and food to sustainable business practices for both the consumer and the business owner.”
