Tulsa Community College is being honored for the second year in a row for its dedication to urban forestry. The National Arbor Day Foundation has designated Tulsa Community College Northeast Campus as a 2013 Tree Campus USA community.

In order to be designated as a Tree Campus USA, campuses must meet five campus standards:

  1. Campus Tree Advisory Committee
  2. Campus Tree Care Plan
  3. Campus Tree Program with Dedicated Annual Expenditures
  4. Arbor Day Observance
  5. Service Learning Project

As part of the honor, Tulsa Community College employees planted an Arbor Day tree on the lawn of the Governor’s Mansion in March.

In the past year, TCC has planted over 150 trees on the TCC Northeast Campus thanks to donations from Up With Trees. One of those trees was planted at the recent EcoFest event (seen below).
