Witnesses to History: World War II and the Holocaust

This event will feature speakers who experienced World War II and the Holocaust first-hand. Each speaker will share their unique story of strength and survival in an era filled with death, destruction, and despair. Join us for this special event as we gain new perspectives on this tumultuous time in history.

Eva Unterman was born in 1932 into a Jewish family in Poland, saw the takeover of her country by the Nazis, and survived being in Auschwitz and other concentration camps.

Ruth Jackson was born in 1933 in eastern Germany and her family escaped to the West when the Soviet Army entered her country at the end of the war. She discovered when her father died in 1975 that he had secretly helped people stay out of Nazi concentration camps.

Dr. Marcel Binstock was born in 1935 in France and his Jewish family escaped the Nazis by jumping off a moving train as it neared the Swiss border. They immigrated to the United States after the war and he became an ophthalmologist.
