Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College presents the patriotic sounds of American composers with a salute to our Armed Forces during the annual 4th on the 3rd concert. The performance is 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 3 at the TCC Southeast Campus VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education located at 81st Street and highway 169.

This year’s 4th on the 3rd performance will feature “Gardens of Stone,” a powerful work commissioned by the United States Air Force Band of Flight. It pays tribute to the military men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our country. The music is blended with passages from American leaders including Presidents Dwight Eisenhower, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan.

The family-friendly event will include the United States Armed Forces Medley with presentation of the flags by the Sons of the American Revolution, Tulsa chapter. The Signature Chorale will be part of the performance that includes selections from two Broadway hits, “West Side Story” and “Porgy and Bess,” and concludes with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 overture, ensuring plenty of musical fireworks.

Special guest conductor Richard Wagner, University of Tulsa Director of Bands and Orchestra, will lead the orchestra.
