Meet Kristopher Copeland, the New West Campus Provost

The new West Campus Provost, Kristopher Copeland has arrived and is ready to meet the TCC family and get to work.

TCC West Campus will welcome Copeland with a reception on June 5 from 3 - 5 p.m. in the Board Room, WC I-232. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to drop in anytime during the reception to say hello.

“I’m thrilled to join TCC this week,” says Copeland. “I was so impressed with the West Campus during the interview process, and I am excited to be here.”

As West Campus Provost, Copeland will oversee Interdisciplinary Support for the College, including Institutional Research & Assessment, the Division of Engaged Learning (Freshman Seminar, Faculty Development and High Impact Practices) and Online Learning.

Copeland comes to TCC from North Lake College in Irving, Texas, where he served as the Executive Dean of Liberal Arts.

Copeland earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy and Higher Education from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Arkansas, a Bachelor of Arts in Speech/Theater Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, and an Associate of Arts from Carl Albert State College in Poteau.

Prior to his appointment at North Lake College, Copeland served as a faculty member in the communication studies discipline for 12 years. He has served as president and former conference planner of the Oklahoma Speech Theater Communication Association and currently serves as the chair of the Federation Prize for the Central States Communication Association.

Copeland has completed the Educators’ Leadership Academy through the University of Central Oklahoma and the Leadership Executive Advancement Program (LEAP) through North Lake College.
