For those who prefer their jazz shaken, not stirred, the Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College begins the 2015-2016 with the TTCU Pops series Music of James Bond and Jaimee Paul. The evening features guest jazz vocalist Jaimee Paul, who takes a modern approach to the timeless themes of 007 from “Skyfall” to “Goldfinger.” Performances are 7:30 p.m., Friday Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12 at the VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education at 10300 E. 81st Street on the TCC Southeast Campus.

This is Maestro Andrés Franco’s inaugural season as the Artistic Director and Conductor of Signature Symphony at TCC. The professional orchestra will perform five Pops concerts and five Classics concerts. The entire season promises to create a memorable experience for audience members and embraces this year’s theme, “Awaken the Music.”

"Our Pops series opens with the music of James Bond, which has captured the audience's imagination for several generations,” said Franco. “With theme songs by singers such as Adele, Tina Turner, Duran Duran, Paul McCartney, Shirley Bassey and Nancy Sinatra, I am sure you will hear music by some of your favorite artists. My personal favorite, the iconic James Bond theme by John Barry, will open the concert and my inaugural season."

In addition, you can take selfies and group photos with your favorite 007 actors. Life-size figures of Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry and Daniel Craig will be set up in the lobby areas of the theatre. Post your photos on social media using #TCCBond and follow Signature Symphony at TCC on Facebook, @tulsacc on Twitter and @tulsacommunitycollege on Instagram.

Season tickets start at $128 for all five 2015-2016 Pops series concerts. Individual tickets start at $30. Student rush tickets are available for $5 one hour before the performance begins and with a valid student ID. Tickets can be purchased at the VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education box office on the TCC Southeast Campus.
