Allied Health Smart Start Orientation

Smart Start Orientation provides Allied Health students with a realistic view of competitive admission processes and the commitment required to be successful in Allied Health programs.

Students who declare any Allied Health program as a major will be required to attend Smart Start.

At Smart Start students will:

  • Attend a general session that will cover information essential to all Allied Health applicants.
  • Attend a breakout session that will give more specific information about your major or area of interest.
  • Meet program directors, faculty, advisors, and career development specialists in the School of Allied Health.

Fall Sessions

The Smart Start Program is now complete for the Fall 2020 semester. We will offer more opportunities in the Spring! Students who declare any Allied Health major as an applicant, are required to attend Smart Start. You can still complete the online orientation, if you missed Smart Start this Fall. At the end of the online orientation you will take a brief quiz.

You must score a 100% on the quiz. Email a copy of your certification to your assigned Academic Advisor. Your advisor will verify completion and remove your hold.

You can find your assigned advisor by following the directions below:

  1. Log in to Starfish.
  2. From My Success Network, click the triangle beside my name, then select Schedule Appointment.
  3. Select the type of appt., adjust the date range as needed to find days and times that work for your schedule, then select a time from the list.
  4. Complete your sign up by choosing your location (phone or virtual appointment) and add a description for why you want to meet.
  5. Click confirm to finish scheduling the appt.
