OFFERINGS Submission Form

Artists and writers are invited to submit to “OFFERINGS,” and exhibition by the Center for Creativity in downtown Tulsa. The exhibition will explore demonstrations of gratitude, respect, connection, and reciprocity. Inspired by TCC’s common book Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, artworks in the exhibition may recognize and celebrate our connection to the natural world, a connection that often remains unnoticed and unappreciated. Artists and writers can explore what their unique offering to the world may be, and how that could benefit future generations.

Artworks in all media, including poetry, prose, sound, and film/video will be considered, but please note installation considerations. Works in progress and proposals for new work will be considered. The exhibition has a special focus on artists who are Native or Indigenous, but artists of all identities are encouraged to submit.

Deadline: Monday, March 4, 2024 at 8 a.m. CT
Exhibition Dates: April 3–27, 2024 at the McKeon Center for Creativity in downtown Tulsa
Opening Reception: Friday, April 5, 5–7 p.m.

Compensation

Each artist selected for the exhibition will be paid a $100 honorarium after the artwork is delivered. Collaborative works created by more than one artist will receive only one honorarium. Selected artists may be invited to submit workshop proposals, which are eligible for additional compensation. TCC employees and TCC students are not eligible for the honorarium.

Artwork may be offered for sale, but all details of the transaction, including any applicable taxes, must be handled solely by the artist. No commission will be assessed.

Installation Considerations

Artwork must arrive ready to hang/display. No holes can be nailed or drilled into the walls or floor of the exhibition space. Work may be displayed via a hook and wire hanging system, on podiums, or on the floor. Adhesive decals that are easily removed may be used on windows or walls. Artists may also build/create their own display solution. All art exhibitions are deemed at the artist's own risk.

All artworks must be delivered directly to the Center for Creativity in Tulsa. Artists may also ship work at their own expense, including a prepaid return shipping label.

Submission Instructions

Each artist may submit up to two works for consideration. Submissions must include a high-quality photograph of each work, a word document or PDF, or a link to a sound or video file, or a description/sketch of the work (if the work is in progress or a proposal for new work.)

Accepted artists will be notified the week of March 4, 2024 and must e-sign an electronic exhibition before artwork is delivered.
