CALL FOR ARTISTS + WRITERS: OFFERINGS
Deadline: Monday, March 4, 2024 at 8 am CT Exhibition Dates: April 3 – 27, 2024 at the McKeon Center for Creativity in downtown Tulsa Opening Reception: Friday, April 5, 5 – 7 pm Questions: Cindy Barton; cindy.barton@tulsacc.edu; 918-595-7339 Artists and writers are invited to submit to “OFFERINGS,” and exhibition by the Center for Creativity in downtown Tulsa. The exhibition will explore demonstrations of gratitude, respect, connection, and reciprocity. Inspired by TCC’s common book Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, artworks in the exhibition may recognize and celebrate our connection to the natural world, a connection that often remains unnoticed and unappreciated. Artists and writers can explore what their unique offering to the world may be, and how that could benefit future generations. Artworks in all media, including poetry, prose, sound, and film/video will be considered, but please note installation considerations below. Works in progress and proposals for new work will be considered. The exhibition has a special focus on artists who are Native or Indigenous, but artists of all identities are encouraged to submit.
