Scholarship Opportunities

Tulsa Community College awards a variety of student scholarships for factors such as academic programs, academic success, activities and financial need. Funding for scholarships includes institutional and privately donated funds.

The following scholarships are available at TCC through various academic programs. Deadlines may vary. Use the Scholarship Checklist to get started.

Child Development Scholarships

George Kaiser Family Foundation Bridging the Gap Scholarship

Must be an OK resident and enrolled in a Childhood Development Program, minimum 2.0 GPA (2.5 if transferring from OU). Priority given to students who meet GPA requirement, but probationary status available for students with lower GPA.

Scholars for Excellence in Child Care

The Scholars for Excellence in Childcare program exists to ensure that eligible child care professionals in the state of Oklahoma have an opportunity to attend a two-year college to further their education while earning a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Certificate of Mastery, Director's Certificate of Completion, and/or an associate degree in child development or early childhood education.

Requirements

To be eligible you must:

  • Earn $15.50 per hour or less
  • Work a minimum of 30 hours per week with children
  • Be employed for at least six months at your current facility
  • Limit 6 credit hours for fall and spring semesters and 3 for the summer semester during their first year on scholarship

If you are a Family Child Care Home Provider, you must be willing to sign a Verification of Income Form.

Ellucian Pathways Scholarship Fund

The Ellucian Pathways Scholarship is designed to help institutions, with guided pathways programs, and their students with the financial support needed to help students continue their studies.

Future Teachers Scholarship

The Future Teachers Scholarship was established by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education as an incentive to encourage the preparation of teachers in critical shortage areas in the public schools of Oklahoma.

Honors Scholars Tuition Waiver and Scholarship

The Honors Scholar State Regents Tuition Waiver Scholarship

This scholarship is for students accepted into the Honors Program. It waives tuition for up to 18 credit hours per fall or spring semester.

Requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • Be an Honors Scholar
  • Be a resident of Oklahoma
  • Have attempted no more than 95 credit hours.

(Concurrent high school students are not eligible for this tuition waiver but are welcome to be Honors Scholars.)

How to apply

To apply to for the scholarship you must first complete the Honors Scholar application. Once you are admitted to the program, you will receive instructions for requesting the tuition waiver. For more information, contact the Honors Office (918) 595-7378.

Hank Comby III Endowed Scholarship

Established to honor the life of Henry B Comby III, the Hank Comby III Endowed Scholarship is awarded to the outstanding graduating Honors Scholar, selected by the TCC honors faculty. There is no application process for this award.

Music Department Talentship

A talentship is a grant credited directly to the student's account and is awarded toward the end of the applicable semester.

Requirements

include an audition (may be waived for prior students whose ability is already known to the faculty) and enrollment in and successful completion of ensembles and private lesson. The student must also be an Oklahoma resident.

Music Department Tuition Waiver

This scholarship tuition waiver is for a specified dollar amount. It does not include textbooks, parking, ID or other student fees. Financial Services is notified of successful applicants. The student's account is credited with the specified dollar amount granted in the waiver. If a student has already paid for the upcoming academic period's classes, then Financial Services will send the student a refund reflecting the scholarship portion of the paid tuition.

Applications for the Music Dept. Tuition Waiver are reviewed as they are submitted and auditions are completed.

My Dream

My Dream is a scholarship opportunity for Tulsa and Rogers County high school graduates who will not receive any state or federal financial aid.

Ragland Family Education Foundation Scholarship Program

The purpose of the Ragland Family Education Foundation Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance to Oklahoma students with limited educational funding who want to obtain a college degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)*.

Residency Tuition Waivers

Oklahoma Resident Tuition Waiver

Various tuition waivers available to Oklahoma residents. To be considered for a tuition waiver submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to TCC by February 1.

The Non-Resident Tuition Waiver application is intended for students who are residents of other states.

Second Chance Scholarship

Available to current inmates of Conner Correctional Facility

Dossey Endowed Scholarship

Established by Frank Dossey's family to honor his memory, the Dossey endowed Scholarship is for horticulture for students in the Second Chance Program.

Tulsa Garden Club Scholarship

Second Chance scholarship for students in the Horticulture program

Student Nursing Association Scholarship

Applicants must be a member of the National Nurses Association.

TCC Foundation Scholarships

You can complete the Scholarship Information Release annually to allow TCC to send your student profile to the TCC Foundation Scholarship Application. Once you sign the release, you will then be redirected to the TCC Foundation Scholarship Application to complete your application for multiple TCC Foundation scholarship opportunities.

Students are encouraged to follow up with their references and apply before the end of February. Most scholarships are awarded in the spring for the following academic year and divided over the fall and spring semesters, unless otherwise noted. Be sure to complete a FAFSA to increase your scholarship eligibility.

Theatre Department Scholarship

Must be a high school student pursuing studies in Theatre Program, as well as an OK resident. Minimum GPA of 2.5 required for first-semester students, 3.0 GPA required for second semester. Applicant must provide two contrasting monologues and a technical portfolio. The date, time and location of scholarship interviews and auditions are arranged by Mark Frank, Coordinator of Theatre – mark.frank@tulsacc.edu.

This opportunity waives tuition for up to 9 credit hours. It does not include textbooks, parking, ID or other student fees. Financial Aid is notified of the successful applicants. They, then, credit the student's account with the number of hours granted in the waiver. If a student has already paid for the upcoming academic period's classes, then Financial Services will send the student a refund reflecting the scholarship portion of the paid tuition.

TRiO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) Tuition Waiver

TRiO services are focused on low income and potential first-generation college students. First-generation is defined as students for whom neither parent has a four-year college degree. Students are nominated by an EOC Counselor.

Requirements

Participants must:

  • Submit a FAFSA
  • Reside in Tulsa, Creek, or Osage County
  • Be at least 19 years-old
  • Be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens

TRiO Student Support Services Waiver

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or meet FAFSA requirements, be an admitted TCC student, and meet at lease ONE of the following criteria: federal income guidelines, neither parent graduated with a four-year degree, or have a documented disability. Must have a minimum GA of 2.5, as well as a minimum overall completion rate of 67% or greater. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours.

Tulsa Achieves

Scholarship available to Tulsa County residents who are graduating high school seniors. Students must attend TCC the fall after they graduate high school. TA pays for 63 credit hours or up to three years, whichever comes first. Recipients must have minimum final high school 2.0 GPA. Recipients must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
