Bridging the Gap Scholarship

The Bridging the Gap Scholarship program supports students pursuing a Child Development Associate® (CDA) Credential, Certificate of Mastery, or an Associate degree in Child Development.

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) – with a Bilingual option
  • Certificate of Mastery (CoM)
  • Associate of Applied Science – Early Childhood
  • Associate of Science - Early Childhood Education Teacher certification (OU transfer)
  • 100% books
  • 100% tuition, fees, and books (after all means of Financial Aid)
  • Professional Development opportunities
  • $250 for CDA credential, $500 for Certificate of Mastery, and $750 for Associate degree
  • Student Internship Program
  • Technical assistance provided
  • Oklahoma resident
  • Valid social security number
  • FAFSA on file every year
  • Maintain a 2.75 GPA for Associate of Science Teacher Certification
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA for Certificate of Mastery and Associate of Applied Science

Scholarships are awarded based on an evaluation of applications by the scholarship committee.

Scholars for Excellence in Childcare

The Scholars for Excellence in Childcare program offers scholarships to working childcare professionals who pursue child development or early childhood education classes and earn the Child Development Associate® (CDA) credential.

  • Child Development Associate® (CDA)
  • Certificate of Mastery (CoM)
  • Director’s Certificate of Completion (DCoC)
  • Associate of Science - Non-Teacher certification
  • 90% tuition & fees
  • 100% books
  • $800 completion stipend for CoM
  • $1,000 completion stipend for DCoC
  • $1,500 completion stipend for associate degree
  • One-on-one assistance and support from Scholar Coordinator
  • Site visits
  • Technical assistance provided
  • Oklahoma resident
  • Must work for an Oklahoma Department of Human Services or Tribal licensed childcare center or family childcare home provider
  • Work minimum of 30 hours/week
  • Must work with children year-round
  • Fall - July 15
  • Mid-Fall - Sept. 15
  • Spring - Dec. 15
  • Mid-Spring - Feb. 15
  • Summer - May 15
